Fibronectina tópica no tratamento de úlcera de córnea de coelho após queimadura por álcali.

Topical fibronectin in the treatment of the corneal alkali ulceration in rabbits.

RESUMO

Foi estudada a epitelização de úlcera de córnea por queimadura por álcali, com o uso tópico de fibronectina purificada de plasma de coelho.

Queimadura por álcali, utilizando-se disco de papel de filtro com diâmetro de 8,0 mm embebidos em NaOH 1N, foi realizada em 30 olhos de 15 coelhos albinos.

O olho direito foi tratado com fibronectina tópica e o esquerdo com tampão fosfato salina (PBS) instilados 5 vezes ao dia.

Não houve diferença entre o grupo tratado com fibronectina e o controle nos 1º, 5º e 11º dia após a lesão.

O tratamento com fibronectina promoveu, após 30 dias, epitelização completa em 5 de 6 animais tratados, estatisticamente significante (P < 0,05) quando comparado com o grupo controle.

SUMMARY

Bilateral alkali burns of the cornea were produced in 15 albino rabbits using the disc of filter paper, 8,0 mm in diameter that was soaked in 1N NaOH.

The right eyes were treated with a drop of purified fibronectin and the left eyes with a drop of phosphate-buffered saline (PBS), 5 times a day.

No difference was found between the group treated with fibronectin and PBS on the 1^st, 5^th and 11^th day after the wound. On the 30^th day after the wound 83.33% of fibronectin-treated eyes and 16.67% of PBS-treated eyes were completely healed. This is significant at p = 0.04.
