Lagoftalmo paralítico: uma proposta de classificação clínico-cirúrgica

Paralytic lagophtalmos - purpose of a clinic-surgical classification

RESUMO

Estudados 66 olhos apresentando lagoftalmo decorrente de paralisia facial de diversas etiologías os quais foram divididos quanto à severidade do quadro clínico em três grupos. Em 39 olhos realizou-se tratamento cirúrgico.

Várias foram as técnicas utilizadas como cantoplastia de Tessier, mola de Arion ^*, tarsal-strip, tarsorrafia e outras.

O objetivo deste trabalho é, analisando-se a eficácia e os resultados cirúrgicos das técnicas utilizadas isoladas ou associadamente, encontrar-se uma classificação clínico-cirúrgica de lagoftalmo a qual oriente na indicação da(s) técnica(s) mais adequada(s) a ser(em) empregada(s) em cada grupo.

SUMMARY

The authors report 66 cases of lagophtalmos due to VII nerve palsy of various etiologies, classified in groups, accordance to their clinical severity.

A 39 cases were submitted to surgical treatment with several techniques, such as Tessier cantoplasty, Arion technique, “tarsal-strip”, tarsorraphy and others.

The purpose of this study is, considering the aesthetic and functional improvement of the various surgical procedures, to find a clinic-surgical classification of lagophtalmos, that would indicate the best techniques to each group.
