SUMMARY
Cotton plants (Gossypium hirsutum L.) were grown in a complete nutrient solution (Hoagland's) until they began to set the first squares. The complete nutrient solution was then replaced by others with diluted levels of N, P, K, Ca, and Mg. Control plants continued to receive the complete solution.
The results showed that the control plants yielded better than those receiving any of the other treatments. They also indicated that in order to study the effect-of varying levels of nutrients on the cotton plant, the differential treatments should be started before the plants begin to set squares.
Data of leaf analysis are presented and discussed according to the nutrient levels in culture solutions.
