Electronic Publishing System

The Materia journal has been focused on developing new processes to enhance the speed of widespreading scientific knowledge. In the year of 2017, some of our procedures have changed drastically such as the adoption of continuous publishing [1 1 Editorial Support Matéria Journal E-mail: matéria@labh2.coppe.ufrj.br Matéria Journal Brazil matéria@labh2.coppe.ufrj.br ] as well as the creation of 7 editorial sub-areas [2 1 Produção Editorial Revista Matéria E-mail: materia@labh2.coppe.ufrj.br ] inserted in our main topic: Materials Science and Engineering. These were some of the actions that helped us to increase our efficiency having received more than 344 scientific works of which 173 were published, reaching an acceptance rate of around 50% in 2017.

However, these new procedures increased the need for new agile managing techniques so our publications were not delayed. For that matter, the Electronic Journal Editoring System, from the portuguese acronym SEER, added great value to our submission, reviewing and editing, thus being crucial for us to achieve great results in 2017. SEER is an editing and managing platform for electronic journals that have been earning increasing acceptance in the Brazilian scientific community for its straightforward and agile utilisation as well as for the fact that it is free of charges. Adopting SEER allowed the immediate interaction between the journal’s editorial production and authors, reviewers and Sub-Editors, thereby increasing the speed of peer-reviewing process. Considering all new functionalities available within SEER, we invite our authors to have a look of some valuable tips here bellow:
