The fourth issue of volume five of the IBRACON Structures and Materials Journal is being published. This number contains seven articles addressing interesting topics on concrete structures and materials. In the previous issue the first part of a work on post-strengthening of reinforced concrete beams with prestressed strips of carbon fibers embedded in epoxy matrices (CFRP) has been published, focusing on analysis under static loading. This issue starts with the second part of such work, addressing analysis under cycling loading. The second article deals with the application of reliability algorithms for assessment of reinforced concrete durability. Another article presents a study on the effect of red mud addition on the corrosion parameters of reinforced concrete by electrochemical methods. The behavior of bolted connections of concrete filled steel tubes is the topic of the fourth article. The fifth presents a comparative study using different dosage methods with respect to requirements such as self-compactability, strength and durability. The sixth article presents experimental results for short steel-and-concrete composite columns subjected to high temperatures, comparing with temperature distributions obtained from numerical simulations. The issue closes with an article on the approximate methods for the design of slender reinforced concrete rectangular columns subjected to eccentric loads.
We would like to congratulate the authors for the quality of the work presented in this issue and thank the reviewers for the support in the evaluation of manuscripts.
