EDITORIAL

In the last trimester, the team of chief editors and part of the editorial production team of CEFAC Journal - Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences and Education Journal participated in activities aimed at improving our journal. At the initiative of the Brazilian Academy of Audiology (ABA), in August, all the chief editors of Brazilian Speech Therapy and Audiology Journals were invited to a meeting in order to set new goals and therefore, ensure the continuity and quality of our publications. The II SciELO ScholarOne Refresher Course took place also in August, and discussed the improvement of the system and enhancement forms with the teams of the Journals. In October, during the XIV Brazilian Congress of Speech Therapy, we participated in the Speech Therapy Scientific Production Board with all editors of Speech Therapy and Audiology Journals, resuming issues on the state of the art of our Journals. These activities allowed our team to set new goals for better indexing and rethink new dissemination strategies of our articles.

Volume 18 (5) of CEFAC Journal is the fifth published by ABRAMO - Brazilian Association of Orofacial Motricity and presents 25 articles in different areas of Speech Therapy. The Correlated and Educational Speech Therapy areas have an article, each. The areas of Orofacial Motricity, Dysphagia and General Speech Therapy are represented by two items each. The areas of Audiology and Voice are also included in this volume, with three articles, each, and the area of Language presents 5 articles and Public Health, 6.

Characterization, classification and correlations in various topics and areas are present in most of the articles in this volume. A few intervention studies have been submitted to our journal, and an article addresses the effects of neuromuscular transcutaneous electrical stimulation in dysphagia.

Of the 25 articles, a letter to the editor has been accepted, a brief communication has been presented, a case report and a letter to the editor have been published. In addition, five review articles and 16 original ones are presented.

It is important to highlight the representation of different regions of the country with 14 articles from the Southeast, four articles from the northeast and south, two articles from the Midwest and an article from North America. The diversity of areas, sort of articles, topics and regions show how CEFAC Journal - Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences and Education Journal - has represented the scientific production of speech therapy. Our strong commitment to better indexing continues guaranteed by the value of the products presented by the research groups in these regions.
