EDITOR'S LETTER

Dear all,

Horticultura Brasileira celebrates in 2013, with its 31st volume, thirty years of circulation! Of course, we want to celebrate with authors, readers and the editorial board, but we also want to thank their trust and engagement, without which Horticultura Brasileira would not have come this far!

And, if we built our history with many and varied challenges, to challenges we dedicate our set of covers in 2013. In this first issue, Dr. Jean Carlos Cardoso talks about the challenge of developing Brazilian cultivars of ornamental plants.

When it comes to challenges, in 2013 our editors have one in particular: to refine the quality of the discussion of results in the submitted papers. We wish to increasingly find relevant discussions on the causes of the reported results. This challenge was a demand of the Research Work Group of the Brazilian Association for Horticulture Science, gathered at our last National Conference in Salvador. Authors, join us!

In 2013, we say goodbye to two colleagues who have been facing for a long time the challenge of acting as scientific editors: Drs. Ana Maria Montragio Pires de Camargo and Maria de Fátima Arrigoni Blank. To both, our deep appreciation for the time and expertise devoted to Horticultura Brasileira.

Finally, after the full operationalization of the online system for paper submission and of our website (www.horticulturabrasileira.com.br), which recorded in 2012, in average, 68.5 visits and 340 pages downloaded daily, we also got to Facebook. Seek "Revista HB " and "enjoy it"!
