Pressão intra-ocular pós-facectomia: sutura de nylon x poliéster

Intraocular pressure after facectomy: nylon x poliester sutures.

RESUMO

Foram estudados prospectivamente dois grupos de 20 pacientes, onde, em um grupo, a síntese da córnea foi procedida com monofilamento de nylon e em outro com o de poliéster. O objetivo foi avaliar o comportamento da pressão intra-ocular nestes dois grupos durante as primeiras 24 horas de pós-operatório. Os resultados não revelaram diferença estatisticamente significante dos níveis de pressão intra-ocular.

SUMMARY

Two groups of twenty patients were studied. Nylon corneal sutures were used in one group and poliester corneal sutures were used in the other, for a purpose of analysing the intra-ocular pressure behavior during the first 24 hours of postoperative period. The statistic study didn't reveal any difference between the two groups.
