WILLIAMS, Harford & JONES, Arlene - Parasitic worms of fish. London, Taylor & Francis, 1994. ISBN: 0-85066 425X

This is, probably, the most comprehensive book in the subject covering the principal aspects of the biology of fish helmints. Having been written by two well-known specialists, for long time working in this field, it is a mandatory reading for whom needs information about fish worms.

Besides the classical account on the taxonomy and life-cycles of fish worms, the main ecological aspects of the relationship among fishes and their parasitic worms as well as the host-parasite interactions are discussed. The last chapter draws attention to human infections with fish worms and to the role of certain fish helminths in animal health. It is also discussed the importance of these parasites in the economy of some regions where fishing represents one of the main income sources.

The book has very well-done and useful illustrations (drawings and photos) and an extensive bibliography with more than 3,500 update references, covering all the aspects of fish helminthology.
