Abstract

PIOVESAN, Elcio Juliato et al. Neurotoxoplasmosis with multifocal suppurative and hemorrhagic presentation: case report. Arq. Neuro-Psiquiatr. [online]. 1997, vol.55, n.1, pp. 126-129. ISSN 0004-282X.  http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S0004-282X1997000100020.

Neurotoxoplasmosis is one of the commonest infections in immunosupressed patients, and rarely presented in the hemorrhagic form. We describe a case with multiple nodular hemorrhagic lesions with perilesional edema in the computed tomography. The neuropathological study showed focal lesions, necrosis and microorganisms compatible with toxoplasmosis.

Keywords : neurotoxoplasmosis; focal haemorrhage; AIDS.
