Abstract

ADAMO JUNIOR, Jayme; PARADELA, Marcia Van Der Haagen  and  HORIGUSHI, Marlene. Brain obstructive chronic vascular disease (moyamoya): case report. Arq. Neuro-Psiquiatr. [online]. 2001, vol.59, n.2B, pp. 435-439. ISSN 0004-282X.  http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S0004-282X2001000300024.

A six years old boy, Japanese descendant, born in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, arrrived to the hospital with sudden loss of muscular strenght at the left side of the body. The cranial computadorized tomography showed a right fronto-parietal ischemia and the digital angiography by cateterism of femural artery, confirmed the diagnosis of brain obstructive chronic vascular disease(moyamoya). We have checked out in the literature that previous superior aerial ways infection, frequently precede the neurological manifestations. Such symptons are in agreement with the mentioned case. This has suggested the hypothesis of inflammatory-immunologic origin of this disease.

Keywords : moyamoya disease; infection.
