Vestibular diseases due to glucose metabolic disorders (GMD) are controversial issues in the medical literature because of lack of objective measures to define cause-effect. AIM: To describe the results of Sensory Organization Test (SOT) in dizziness patients presenting GMD and treated with proper diet. STUDY DESIGN: Retrospective. MATERIAL AND METHOD: Twenty-one dizziness patients presenting GMD and treated with proper diet. To assess the balance function, the patients underwent the Sensory Organization Test from Computerized Dynamic Posturography. RESULTS: The vestibular condition in SOT – V condition – and the equilibrium score (ES) were the two parameters improved in GMD patients treated with proper diet. CONCLUSION: SOT is a useful test to assess balance control in GMD patients presenting dizziness.
