LOCATELLI, Mauro Cristóvão; NAVA, Gilmar Antônio; CITADIN, Idemir  e  PICHLER, Marisa. Phenology and fruit set of peach cv. 'Granada' under different orchard managements. Rev. Ceres [online]. 2012, vol.59, n.5, pp.684-688. ISSN 0034-737X.  https://doi.org/10.1590/S0034-737X2012000500014.

Peach cv. Granada produces for dual purpose: fruits are firm and have good size and appearance. However, this cultivar has been showing low yields, especially when temperatures are above 25 °C during the dormancy period and flowering time. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate different management practices on the phenology and fruiting of this cultivar. The experiment was arranged in a randomized block design with four replications, two plants per plot and 10 one-year-shoots per plant. The following treatments were tested: T1 - control treatment (management practices adopted by the fruit-grower); T2 - girdling the trunk; T3 - short pruning of the one-year-shoots (twigs with two nodes); T4 - Kaolin at 3.5 % of active ingredient; T5 - Hydrogen Cyanamide (0.75 %) + mineral oil (1 %); T6 - girdling of the trunk combined short pruning of  one-year-shoots; T7 - trunk girdling + Hydrogen Cyanamide (0.75 %) + mineral oil (1 %); T8 - short pruning + Hydrogen Cyanamide (0.75 %) + mineral oil (1 %); T9 - ringing of the trunk + short pruning + Hydrogen Cyanamide (0.75 %) + mineral oil (1 %); T10 -trunk girdling + Kaolin (3,5 %). The cultivar Granada has natural low fruit production; the girdling of the trunk associated with Kaolin (3,5 %), anticipated full blooming by one week; the application of hydrogen cyanamide (0.75 %) + mineral oil (1 %), alone or associated with short pruning, caused a better flowering, fruit set and yield; trunk girdling reduced fruit set and yield of cv. Granada.

Palavras-chave : hydrogen cyanamide; kaolin; ringing; pruning.
