Abstract
SEVASTANO, Helena and NOVO, Djalma Pereira. Psychological aspects of the pregnant woman as seen by the Center of the Ego Theory. Rev. Saúde Pública [online]. 1981, vol.15, n.1, pp.101-110. ISSN 0034-8910. http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S0034-89101981000100010.
Using the Rojas-Bermudez theory, an analogy has been drawn with some of the psychological aspects that occur in the three trimesters of the gestational period with regard to the psychosomatic roles determined by the three physiological functions ingestion, defecation, urination. Need for the use of this psychoprophylatic method by a greater number of prenatal services is emphasized, as is the fact that the method has to be adapted to the resources of the area served and to the patient's possibilities.
