Chicken manure (2 l/m2) was the only fertilizer used, except that in the experiments on sucessive cuttings 0,2% nitrogenous fertilizer was applied after each harvesting by cuttings. Phytossanitary treament was carried out In the sown beds only. Amaranthus cruentus produced the most in the first experiment, followed by Celosia argentea cv. Avounvo Rouge. In the second and third experiments Celosia argentea cv. Avounvo Vert was the best.
