Abstract

OLIVEIRA, Ricardo Lourenco de. Sobre uma nova espécie de Phoniomyia (Diptera: Culicidae) do Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. Mem. Inst. Oswaldo Cruz [online]. 1983, vol.78, n.4, pp. 501-505. ISSN 0074-0276.  http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S0074-02761983000400015.

Phoniomyia deanei sp.n. (Diptera: Culicidae) is described from specimens caught in Jacarepaguá, Rio de Janeiro, State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This species is close to Phoniomyia bonnei Lane & Cerqueira, 1942, being easily distinguished by the male genitalia, particularly by the number and shape of the basistyle setae.
