Abstract

Strongyloides ferreirai n.sp. is described and compared to the closely related species S. ratti, S. venezuelensis and S. myopotami, parasites of rodents in Brazil. The description is based on parasitic females, recovered from the small intestine of Kerodon rupestris (Wied.) (Caviidae) captured in Floriano Peixoto, Piauí State, Brazil.
