This article presents a review of published studies on undergraduate scientific research in Brazil, based on a survey of academic publications related to this theme. Covering the period from 1983 to the first half of 2007, the examined literature offers useful information for understanding the current stage of undergraduate research. The results show an emerging field of study and point out how it has been academically approached.
