The ongoing transformations of information production and use have promoted a rising up of new possibilities for archivology information management and configuration as a field of knowledge and archivology performance. In the international scenario, the trends are identified in various schools of archival thought. Research carried out in Brazil from articles published from 1990 to 1995 hints demands for enlargement and diffusion of knowledge in this area, in accordance with the trends worldwide observed.
