Psidium cattleianum seeds were packed in permeable, semipermeable and impermeable bags and stored under normal laboratory conditions in both dry and cold chambers for 1,107 days to evaluate the physiological quality. Moisture content, percentage germination, germination speed rate and electrical conductivity of the imbibition solution were evaluated every 123 days after the beginning of storage. In the germination and electrical conductivity tests, the seeds were previously immersed in sulphuric acid for 25 minutes, then washed in flowing tap water and in distilled water. The seeds were placed in vermiculite to germinate at an alternated temperature of 20-30 ºC, under white fluorescent lamps with an eight-hour photoperiod. Those seeds packed in an impermeable bag and stored under normal laboratory conditions or in a dry chamber, as well as packed in a semipermeable bag and stored in a cold chamber, could be stored for 1,107 days.
