This paper discusses the current situation of Youth and Adult Education in Brazil. The discussion begins by reviewing the adult educational policies within the huge educational reforms that marked last century and concludes analyzing the possibilities of achieving a high school equivalency education that, in a renewed way, would not fall back into past errors or turn this form of tuition excessively academic.
