This paper stems from our master's degree research. Based on documents of the Fundação CASA (Youth Detention Centers) and interviews with ex-inmates, teachers and officers of the Detention Center in Araraquara (SP), it discusses the use of the professionalizing workshops offered to youths as a possibility of social reintegration.
