This paper analizes how Physical Education's investigations understand the concept of "body", especially in La Plata's University (Argentina). Thus, this imply an epistemic and methodological investigation that follows the three moments that Bourdieu refers to research a social phenomenons: the conquest, the construction and the confirmation. In the first one we find an epistemological break with the common sense. The second one refers to the effort of building the particular object of study of the Physical Education. Finally, the third one poses some possible lines for future investigations of the notion of "body", in order to escape from any substantialism.
