The text discuss the relation of reciprocal influences between Sports and the City, by considering the city of Vitoria / ES and five modalities of sports promoted by the Municipal Law to encourage high performance sports (Law No. 5892). The goal is to identify the existence of a relation between a model of sports and the daily life of the city, that is, relations of social aid, political and economic arrangements between the city of Vitoria and the promoted modalities of sports. We found a weak relation between high performance sport and the city of Victoria, due to lack of efficiency and effectiveness of such social policies.
