This article determines the prevalence and profile of users of Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) and Supplements (SA) in the city of João Pessoa, Paraíba. Data were collected by structured questionnaire. 510 subjects (24.9±6.2 years) were analyzed, among those 79.4% (n=405) where male. The prevalence of use of AAS and SA was 20.6% (n=105) and 54.7% (n=279), respectively. The users were mostly young males, with low education and over four years of training, with an attendance of five times per week. These data demonstrate that there is a high prevalence of use of AAS and SA among the practitioners of physical activity at gyms in João Pessoa.
