The following discussion stemmed from a post-doctoral research, which investigates the retired teachers of UECE's Social Service course. Curiosity is derived from the understanding of the trajectories of these teachers, the pioneers of this Course, and from the pursuit of the meaning which they have granted to teaching practice. The relevance of professional experience has been revealed as a condition for teaching; the inexistence of Masters and Doctorate degrees in their training, plus strong humanistic traits in their speeches.
