This paper analyzes the academic production about teacher's collective action in Brazil, during the 80s and 90s. It presents the most significant trends in the analysis of teacher's collective organizations and their contribution to the investigation of this matter in the county of São Paulo. It also explores whether these studies investigated the role played by the gender relationships in the teachers' engagement in collective actions.
