Abstract

SILVA, Rodrigo Manoel Dias da. Education, citizenship and formative agencies in brazilian cultural policies. Educ. Soc. [online]. 2014, vol.35, n.127, pp.397-415. ISSN 0101-7330.  http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S0101-73302014000200004.

This article aims to address the new configurations of cultural policies and some of its implications for contemporary educational policies and practices. From a sociological analysis perspective, especially when considering the hypothesis of the decline of the modern institutionality of the school and recognizing the expansion and diversification of cultural policies, particularly as from Gilberto Gil's administration as Minister of Culture, the author intends to investigate the formative agencies that make up the cultural actions and policies in Brazil. The article also considers that those agencies not only change the relationships between actors and institutions, but are guided by goals situated between the expectations of social return and citizenship training.

Keywords : Cultural policies; Agencies; Education; Citizenship.
