This article presents an overview of the approach introduced by Douglas Biber known as 'Multidimensional Analysis'. The article introduces the main concepts in this approach and reviews major studies using this methodology. A survey of unpublished studies carried out in Brazil is presented as well. The article also discusses the key criticisms levelled at multidimensional studies.
