GRISA, Catia; ELIAS, Lilian de Pellegrini  e  THIES, Vanderlei Franck. Party and family farming participation in school feeding: an analysis in the municipalities of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. Soc. estado. [online]. 2020, vol.35, n.2, pp.605-630.  Epub 04-Set-2020. ISSN 1980-5462.  http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/s0102-6992-202035020010.

This article analyzes the effects that political and ideological positions, as well as party alignment between mayors and Presidency of the Republic, have on compliance with Law no. 11,947 / 2009, especially regarding the acquisitions of family farming for school feeding. Our hypothesis assumed that municipalities governed by mayors or deputy mayors of the Workers’ Party (PT) present positively different (higher percentage) participation of family farming in school feeding. For this, we analyzed the municipalities of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina during their mandates of 2009/2012 and 2013/2016. The results indicated differences between the two mandates and different situation in the two states regarding party attachment and the participation of family farming in school feeding. Thus, the hypothesis that guided the work was not confirmed.
