FERNANDES, Angela Maria Dias and JOCA, Emanuella Cajado. May 18th as a space for research and training. Psicol. Soc. [online]. 2011, vol.23, n.spe, pp. 170-176. ISSN 0102-7182. http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S0102-71822011000400020.
A collective training in psychology. Setup May 18 on a campus of a public university. The theme of institutional analysis as a discipline of theories and research techniques in psychology. These three elements have built a field where the techniques of Theatre of the Oppressed and the conceptual construction of generative words, by Paulo Freire, problematized the production of madness from a research / intervention. The paper presented here, addressing the limits of madness deinstitutionalization, allowed to see how the society built an institutionalized space of the mental illness that goes beyond the walls of mental institutions forming subjectivities. The experience with students of psychology provided a moment of dialogic training and critical reflection on social practices with incarcerated persons as "deviants from the order", and facilitated the learning of theory and tools of institutional analysis application, confirming a major technical perspective of social intervention.
Keywords : anti-mental institution; institutional analysis; academic graduation; theatre of the oppressed.
