MINAYO-GOMEZ, Carlos  e  BARROS, Maria Elizabeth Barros de. Health care, work, and the processes of subjectivization in schools. Psicol. Reflex. Crit. [online]. 2002, vol.15, n.3, pp. 649-663. ISSN 0102-7972.  http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S0102-79722002000300018.

This article deals with the concept of subjectivity as related to health care practices. Its starting point is the hypothesis that the concept of subjectivity, which predominates in the view of health care workers, is not in accordance with the present and assumptions of renewal of concepts and practices. Its aim is to argue for the collective nature of the processes of production of subjectivity, and against the individualistic, objectified, a priori nature of practices of Psychology and related areas. A thorough defense of the transformations in these practices is proposed based on the interrelationship between work management and the processes of subjectivization following M. Foucault's philosophical premises and the French tradition ergology. In the light of the arguments, the importance of researching the interrelationship between work management, health care and the current processes of subjectivization can be confirmed. The subject of this analysis is the Brazilian public school system.

Palavras-chave : Subjectivity; health care practices; work; management.
