Abstract

GHISLENI, Angela Peña  and  MERLO, Álvaro Roberto Crespo. Contemporary worker and work-related musculoeskeletal diseases. Psicol. Reflex. Crit. [online]. 2005, vol.18, n.2, pp. 171-176. ISSN 0102-7972.  http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S0102-79722005000200004.

Cumulative Trauma Disorders (CTD)- which are also known as Work-Related Musculoeskeletal Disorders (WRMD) and have stood out since an economic system rose based on production restructuring- are faced by workers and express suffering stemming from the relations between workers and work. We look into how CTD/WRMD develop in contemporary workers´ body, taking account of their work history and viewing such syndromes as the subjectivation of the relation between workers and work. We favor an interdisciplinary approach based on both the biomedical knowledge and the social psychology, in search for an interface language among the professions that have the same focus- the worker.

Keywords : Cumulative trauma disorders (CTD); work related musculoeskeletal disorders (WRMD); contemporary work; subjectivation.
