This paper argues that current competitiveness of the Brazilian Industry is supported by a new entrepreneurial view, which emerged after the opening up of the economy. The argument is based on five focal points: companies' strategy based on innovation and product differentiation; organizational restructuring; companies' efforts to fit international product patterns by technological innovation; innovation is improving export performance of the firms; firms that are basing their internationalization process on technological innovation.
