This paper presents a grid-connected photovoltaic system in centralized configuration and constructed with a three-phase dual-stage inverter able to extract the maximum power of the PV modules. The P&O algorithm is adopted as MPPT technique. The isolation is achieved by a high-frequency transformer. The converter used in the DC-DC stage dispenses control-loop, its duty-cycle and switching frequency are constants throughout the power operation range. This enables the application of DC-DC resonant converters, whose efficiency is high at high frequencies, favoring compaction of the power circuit. Thus, the three-phase series resonant converter is chosen to integrate this stage. The MPPT is transferred to the DC-AC stage, which, invariably, has a grid current controller. The three-phase PWM voltage-source inverter, in the DC-AC stage, uses vector control and space vector modulation. The vector control requires a Park's transformation from the grid-currents which yield the direct axis current. The MPPT uses the same variables of the grid current controller and maximize the direct axis current which reflects the power flux from the PV array. Thus, any specific measurement to realize the MPPT is not needed, resulting in a small count of sensors.
