There is a "philosophy of history" in Thomas Mann's works. This article intends to give elements to the comprehension of this philosophy linked, since the beggining, to Schopenhauer and Nietzsche, but also related to psychoanalysis' discoveries and to Mann's profound knowledge of mythology.
