The last years have witnessed the development of Finance Sociology, a new specialty within the also new (or renewed) Economic Sociology. The purpose of the text is to present some aspects of the new area, some comparisons on its development within the Anglo-Saxon dialog field together with the French path's peculiarities, in order to apply some of these insights to the analysis of the Brazilian contemporary social scene. Special attention is given to the analysis of the simultaneous creation of new financial products and new social actors endowed with their own agendas, not only in the economic sphere, but also in the more general sphere of society regulation.
