MATA, Sérgio da. Religion and modernity in Ernst Troeltsch. Tempo soc. [online]. 2008, vol.20, n.2, pp.235-255. ISSN 0103-2070. http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S0103-20702008000200012.
This paper aims to show the importance of Ernst Troeltsch's contribution to the sociology of Christianity, arguing that the contemporary significance of Troeltsch's theories derives precisely from their divergences from those of his friend Max Weber, rather than their elective affinities.
