SILVA, Lucas Trindade da. Inflection in the genealogical approach of modernity in Michel Foucault: from disciplinary archaism to society of security. Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Polít. [online]. 2019, n.30, pp.275-314. Epub 10-Fev-2020. ISSN 2178-4884. https://doi.org/10.1590/0103-335220193008.
The aim of this article is to make explicit, through a careful reading of Security, Territory, Population (1977-1978), the inflection in Foucault ‘s thought from a disciplinary conception of modern society to a perspective that increasingly accentuates the modernity of security dispositifs triggered by liberal governmentality, while the political anatomy is taken, in contrast to the argument of Discipline and Punish (1975), as an archaic power still attached to the horizons of sovereignty and reason of state. It is also intended to express that, unlike an enunciation concerning a supposed postmodernity, Foucault constructs a particular image regarding the modernity of power and society.
