Abstract

BURKE, Peter. Does hope have a history?. Estud. av. [online]. 2012, vol.26, n.75, pp. 207-218. ISSN 0103-4014.  http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S0103-40142012000200014.

This article argues that hope has a history in the sense that people in different historical epochs hope for different things.  Indeed, it has a cultural, social and political history because different social groups have different hopes - for salvation, for liberty, for security, for social mobility and so on.

Keywords : Dream; Expectation; Hope; Imagination.
