Silica sulfuric acid as an efficient and reusable reagent for crossed-aldol condensation of ketones with aromatic aldehydes under solvent-free conditions. J. Braz. Chem. Soc. [online]. 2004, vol.15, n.5, pp. 773-776. ISSN 0103-5053. http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S0103-50532004000500026.
Aromatic aldehydes undergo crossed-aldol condensation with ketones in the presence of silica sulfuric acid under solvent-free conditions to afford the corresponding a, b-unsaturated aldol products in excellent yields. The reagent is reusable for several times without any decrease in the yield of the reactions.
