Abstract

CORREA, Cristia Rosineiri Gonçalves Lopes. The beginning of the conversation between education and psychoanalysis in Brazil: Arthur Ramos, transference, ideal and authority. Psicol. USP [online]. 2011, vol.22, n.4, pp. 789-812.  Epub Nov 29, 2011. ISSN 0103-6564.  http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S0103-65642011005000036.

This article discusses the role played by Ideal in Arthur Ramos approach, in the beginning of the conversation between education and psychoanalysis, by introducing the notion of “problem-child” and claiming mental hygiene as obvious measure by transference. The author posits that whereas Ramos takes as mainly tool the Ideal dimension comprised by the transference to restore the degraded authority in the children problems pictures in the school, we can verify from Lacan rigorously founded on Freud’s works, that the Ideal segregates and it is on the opposite side to authority. In this sense, this article, in approaching in an enhanced way the transference, verifies one deviation in the origin of this conversation between these two fields, in the brazilian context.

Keywords : Problem-child; Ideal; Authority; Transference; Psychoanalysis and Education.
