The present study had the objective to identify the professional health team's perceptions concerning the attendance of the child hospitalized in pediatric wings starting from the insert of the family in the hospital. It is a qualitative research accomplished in the pediatric wings of the University Hospital of Western Paraná. The case study was the methodology used and the technique of collection of the data was the questionnaire. For the analysis the beginnings that govern the interpretation of texts were used. As result of the analysis was identified that the professionals sad about work routine alterations and they perceived the insert of the family in the hospital with a figurative and instrumental sense. There is a hierarchization of the care and the same activities of some professionals. The importance of the participation of the family is pointed out in the attendance of the child in an interdependence conception and complementarities of the actions between professionals and family.
