A growing sense of moral panic regarding the trafficking of human beings has led to a situation in which the agents who deal with this theme often transform accusations into analytical categories in their attempts to offer solid information regarding the phenomenon. Here, we will analyze a recently published article in this field. We will attempt to recover and problematize its original sources and show how contradictory data are transformed into facts in a process of knowledge production were political militancy becomes confused with scientific research
