TEITELBAUM, Vanesa. The mutualism in the world of work (Tucumán, Argentina, 1877-1914). Varia hist. [online]. 2011, vol.27, n.46, pp. 665-688. ISSN 0104-8775.  http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S0104-87752011000200014.

The purpose of this paper is to reconstruct and analyze some practices developed by the mutual aid societies of workers formed in Tucumán during the last third of the nineteenth century and especially since late 1880. It begins with a brief description about the characteristics of mutual institutions, taking up some of the remarks made by social history and the labor movement. Subsequently, we examine the goals and activities pursued by the major associations of mutual aid workers who were formed in the city of San Miguel de Tucuman and the interior of the province during the years under study. The study also includes a review of the conflicts that arose around central issues of associative life, such as fund management, field hitherto unexplored by historians on the subject for the time and place chosen for this research.
