The article deals with the relationships between sculpted images of Hindu deities (murtis) and devotees of the Hindu goddess Kali. Through the description of ritual acts consacrated to murtis in a temple located in Western Guyana, and more specifically to those directed at the manifestation of deities in the bodies of religious experts, the article explores the effects of the copresence of persons and things, stressing the bodily impact of images.
