Rare earth modified lead titanate ceramics, PYbT and PYT, were prepared by the Pechini method. The materials were calcined under flowing oxygen at different temperatures and were investigated using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and infrared spectroscopy. The thermal behavior of Ytterbium (Yb) and Yttrium (Y) modified PbTiO3 using thermogravimetric analysis and differencial thermal analysis are reported. The results revealed that the perovskite phase was obtained at low temperature and that the thermal stability of the materials is favored through dopant increase.
