Abstract
CARDOSO-BUCKLEY, Maria Cecília de Freitas. Values influencing the perception of the human being and research in special education: a reflection. Rev. bras. educ. espec. [online]. 2011, vol.17, n.spe1, pp. 17-22. ISSN 1413-6538. http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S1413-65382011000400003.
Personal and collective values that influence our perception of the human being may have consequences for research in education. Technologies are currently being developed and full inclusion is put into practice, which carry intrinsic values, proclaimed or not. At the same time, the rejection of differences and the praise for the human being coexist with disabilities in today's society. This paper presents a comprehensive reflection upon the implications that the current and differing perceptions of the human being bring to research in special education.
