BEIVIDAS, Waldir. Drive, affect and passion: psychoanalysis and semiotics. Psicol. estud. [online]. 2006, vol.11, n.2, pp. 391-398. ISSN 1413-7372.  http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S1413-73722006000200018.

The current article presents and discusses the results of a research about the relation between Ethics and Clinic in the context of the This article presents both, a study in relation to preliminary propositions and hypothesis, as well as, the difficulties of performing a further research regarding the elaboration of a theoretical interface between Freudian meta-psychology (drive and affect) and the semiotics of passions. The global proposal is to establish a 'theory of passion' on semiotics bases, under the concept of 'drive', thus, leading concepts such as  'passion and drive' to get a pertinence and be as significant as the other psychoanalytic and semiotic concepts. This task can only be legitimated if 'passions' could be theorized and described as ' drive conversions resultants' by denial, repression, sublimation, identification and so on.

Keywords : Drive; affect; passion.
