This research was designed to evaluate salmonella recovery from experimentally contaminated feeds and to compare the bactericidal and residual efficacy of acids in feeds for chickens. The bacterial recovery was successful for all of the utilized media, and on a first trial, Bio Add^R and Myco Curb^R were not effective in the decrease of salmonella in experimentally contaminated feeds. On a second trial, using water solution to apply the acids, Bio Add^R and Salmex^R were effective. Bactericidal activity on dry mix was not observed with any of the products or levels tested in feeds. In bactericidal and residual evaluations of organic acids, Salmex^R was effective and Sal Curb^R was not.
